How To Search eBay Like a Design Pro
26 years of finding killer stuff on the internet's flea market
Well, this is my first post for paying subscribers, so I figured it should be something that you, the reader, can actually use to make some $$$ yourself! I have been a fan of eBay forever, granted not since day one as I’m always slow to get on the next new thing, but when I do, I go hard, and I have been buying things on the internet’s vast flea market for a quarter of a century. Have I found good stuff? Yes, I have found things that are now in museums, in top collectors’ homes, and also just weird stuff for my own collection. I’m sure plenty of you are equally as skilled as I am, but maybe not? I have devoted at least 1-3 hours a day on this site every day for those last 26 years. What does that add up to? 9,500 - 28,500 hours of searching, and if I’m honest it’s probably more than that! Anyway, according to Malcolm Gladwell, I am an eBay “master” 3 times over! So here are some of my tips and tricks, and if you have your own, please share them with the group!
I also sell things, as you can see above, lately magazines and books and some watches. I think I have had 3 eBay names over the years, and my favorite was ‘pigseatmorehumansthansharks’ which is true!
Above you’ll see some of my junk that’s currently for sale. eBay has made it WAY easier to list things than it used to be and once you get past the fact that they take 12-15% of your sale, it’s an easy place to do business, but we aren’t talking selling today, we’re talking finding and scoring the good shit!
